Throughout the past few months, we have been notifying Mid-Del staff every time an opportunity comes up for school employees to sign up for the Covid-19 vaccine. Prior notifications have led to a few people here and there being able to get the vaccine, but never enough people to really impact the calendar.
This Monday, February 22, however, we have over 500 employees who are signed up to receive the vaccine. Therefore, we are going to declare Monday as a remote learning day and have in-person instruction the rest of the week.
I understand that this change, coming on the heels of nearly two weeks of winter weather, complicates your family schedules. It is important to us that we get our employees vaccinated so that the school year can proceed, hopefully with fewer interruptions from this point forward. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding.
To reiterate, we will continue with remote learning Monday, February 22. We will have in-person instruction at all schools Tuesday the 23rd through Friday the 26th. Thank you for your flexibility, patience, and understanding.
