For those who were curious, the filming for our district's bus expectations video was also a success! I forgot to post the update yesterday! Here are some shots from the "set" starring our young actors.

Minus the short drizzle, today made for perfect zoo day weather! Everyone had a wonderful time, and overall, it was a huge success.

After participating in a webinar this morning with the National Weather Service, we've made the decision to cancel evening events for tonight. This is for all schools, including the Mid-Del Technology Center, but does not include OSSAA events, which are outside of our control. Hopefully we can get everything rescheduled in the time we have left this year. We've included slides from the webinar for your information. Stay safe. #mdpurpose

With only 2 weeks left, it's time to celebrate all the hard work our teachers have dedicated to this school year 🥳! With that being said, to commemorate this calendar year, here's a shot of the majority of our team! Some elected not to participate or were absent at the time the photo was taken 🙁; however, their efforts are recognized in our mission to help as many students as we can!

Great news/opportunity for our students!
Working with the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Student Services (Heather Graham), our school's students have been selected to participate in a video to demonstrate the Mid-Del School district's bus expectations!!! Our district's mission statement of being safe, challenged, and ready extends beyond the schools—it also takes place on the buses. Transportation does their best to ensure our youth get to and from school safely, and it's time to lay out clear expectations. With that being said, our students will be the model for the vision.
See the English and Spanish version of the flyers below!
For parents: we will be sending out permission slips for the students to be able to participate. Expect these slips the beginning of next week, as the shooting of the video will be soon.

I apologize for the late notice; however, I just received Del City High School's dates as well. If you're a DCHS student attending Career Academy, please pay attention to the following dates. You're almost to the finish line. It's time to celebrate/prepare!

Class days remaining have hit single digits! No need to hide it (everyone is counting). In the meantime, for all of our Seniors from Carl Albert High School, please review the attached dates/events. Graduation is quickly approaching, and it's time to prepare!

Important message for Mid-Del families.
Due to impending weather this evening, all student evening programs have been postponed. Please watch school social media accounts for event reschedule information. #mdpurpose

Mark your calendars for our upcoming Virtual Sanctioning Meetings on May 11th and June 8th. If you have questions regarding the meeting, please contact Preston Tatum at ptatum@mid-del.net or Jacqueline Woodard at jwoodard@mid-del.net. Thank you!

You don't want to miss the Career Academy Garage Sale! We have a lot of items in store, and the proceeds benefit our program to help fund unique opportunities and aid for our students!

We would like to express our gratitude for Paige Stramski from Rose State College. She provided a wonderful presentation regarding the college's enrollment process, eligibility, and all the benefits that come with being a student at the campus! For anyone who is considering going to college, regardless of age, take the opportunity to check out what RSC has to offer. If have chosen to attend for the fast approaching fall semester, then delay no further as the enrollment period has officially opened as of April 10! Don't delay (as class seats are filling), but if you need more time to consider, just know their current final enrollment session is June 28. The appointment times are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for 9:00am or 1:30pm time slots.

Do you like helping schools fund their school lunches? Do you also enjoy chicken fingers? If you have answered yes to both of those questions, then I know exactly what you're having for dinner tomorrow!
Please help support our district's Child Nutrition department by eating at Raising Cane's tomorrow between 4-9pm (specific location on the flyer). Be sure to spread the word! We greatly appreciate our community, and your ongoing efforts to assist our wonderful students.

Tonight is the night! Join us from 5-6:30p.m. at Midwest City Elementary. Meet with principals from our schools and learn more about our #mdpurpose!

We encourage all of our Mid-Del families to wear purple for Purple Up! For Military Kids Day on Thursday, April 13th!
Purple Up! For Military Kids is a day for communities to wear purple to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices. Purple indicates that all branches of the military are supported; Air Force blue, Army green, Navy blue, Marine red, and Coast Guard blue all thought to combine together as a single color, purple.

Come be a part of the Mid-Del Team! Join us at our Teacher Career Fair on Monday, April 17th from 5-6:30pm. Meet with principals and administrators from our schools at this come and go event. Please bring copies of your resume with you. #mdpurpose

We would love to express our gratitude for Jonathan Richardson from University of Central Oklahoma. He provided a wonderful presentation regarding UCO's campus life, scholarship opportunities, degree options available at the University, and more. Some of our students have been hesitant on which college they would like to attend, even after all of the previous presenters we've had, but Jonathan managed to persuade some of our indecisive students. Watch out UCO, you're more than likely going to be receiving some applications next year from our current roster!

We would like to give a shout out to Isaac from OSU-OKC for coming out to Career Academy yesterday. He spoke with our students regarding opportunities at their college, and he officially piqued the interest of a few students. For those unaware, OSU-OKC doesn't look at GPA when considering applications—they simply look at ACT/SAT scores!
With that being said, we wish all of our students luck today as they take their ACT!

Applications are open for the 2023 Fall Semester of MDVA. Space is limited. Notification of status will be sent to Parents/Guardians by the week of May 8. For more info, visit www.mid-del.net or email mdvasecondary@mid-del.net.
