Most, if not all of us, have been there: It's senior year of high school, and it's the final semester. Nerves were clearly present, and many of us asked ourselves "Do I actually know what I'm going to do after I graduate?" or "Am I truly ready?" Our students are no different, which is why our life skills classes had them create vision boards, write SMART goals, and ensured they've at least considered their plans for post-graduation.
We hope each student that started this semester with panic for their future found some reassurance that it's not the end of the world. Attached are some examples of their work.

All enrollment will be online through the PowerSchool Parent Portal for the 2023-24 school year. If you're a Mid-Del Guardian and you do not currently have access to the PowerSchool Parent Portal, you will need to contact your child's school to receive the access code.

Mrs. Tuter/Ms. Lancaster's fresh batch of cooking students held a ramen cookoff yesterday! They planned their meals, documented their ingredients, and then created their meal with an added "twist." Each student provided some personal flair to their masterpieces by adding their own unique ingredients. No clear winner was confirmed, but these images are suddenly making me hungry—they look delicious!

I apologize for the radio silence this last week! It has been quite busy this semester. Regardless, we had a new science teacher starting this semester (Ms. Lancaster), and she wasted no time enrapturing the students! Throughout this week they dove into the water cycle, weather, earth's natural processes, and cloud types. Check out the results of their cloud projects! For reference: the colorful balls are cloud dough. I don't know about you, but I think they did a fantastic job!

Mid-Del Schools will be closed on Monday, January 16 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Schools will reopen on Tuesday, January 17.

For anyone interested, registration to the Mid-Del Technology Center is officially open!

Welcome back, everyone! It's 2023. We get to say that now! As classes kick off, and we slowly get back into the classroom mindset, we want to share some updates regarding our schedule. All students have received a letter to explain. However, as another attempt to get the word out, we have attached a copy of the notice in the documents section of our webpage. In short, Fridays have moved to remote learning days.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Here's to the end of a fantastic semester! Many of our students worked hard to either catch up on their missing credits or finish off what they had left to fulfill their graduation requirements. We are proud of each and every one of our students. Now is the time to take a much needed break to rejuvenate, relax, and prepare for our next semester. Enjoy the break, and the holidays! We shall see you next year—January 3rd to be exact!

We would like to take the opportunity to thank Poetry and Chill OKC for coming out yesterday and hosting an open mic opportunity for our students! It was an absolute marvel watching our students tackle their fear of stage fright and sharing their wonderful voices with everyone present.
Recordings were taken, but the videos came out poorly. I apologize for the low quality snapshots; however, here are some photos featuring the majority of those that blessed the mic.

Reminder: It's coming up quick! In fact, it's tomorrow at 6pm! We will be holding our personal graduation ceremony for all of our students who have completed their graduation requirements in our cafeteria. Feel free to come support your friends, family, and peers as they prepare to set out on their own

Our first field trip this year, and it was huge success! Our students took a hands-on tour of the Mid-Del Technology Center where they were introduced to many of the outstanding programs offered to high school students and adults! Here are some moments of the tour featuring a handful of our learners.

The consensus is in: students love decorating doors. With that being said, check out their creativity/craftsmanship!

For our students who may have missed the memo: next week we're getting into the holiday spirit with some festive dress-up! Attached is our plans for dress-up wear. It's not mandatory, but let's not get all grinchy about it (teasing of course)...except for Tuesday...you can grinch out on Tuesday.

It's December, and we all know that means: Christmas trees! Granted, we set them up a few days ago (back in November *gasp*), but that's besides the point! We hope you all are currently enjoying the holiday season, and we look forward to showcasing our student's work over the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, enjoy the weekend.

Over the past few months, Dr. Cobb has met with district staff, parents, and community stakeholders to receive feedback about our school facilities. We are following up these in-person conversations with a stakeholder survey: https://forms.gle/FTzpWvJhZEAnibde9

We are accepting donations for our Teacher of the Year recognition program. We will be celebrating all of our 21 site teachers of the year. To donate, please contact Stacey Boyer at sboyer@mid-del.net. #mdpurpose
