April 10, 2024 Remote Learning Day for all Mid-Del 9th, 10th, and 12th graders. The Oklahoma State Department of Education has provided the opportunity for school districts to utilize funding for FREE ACT testing. Mid-Del will be giving a FREE ACT Test to ALL JUNIORS (and those seniors who have been notified by their sites). Due to staff needs and testing facility requirements, ALL 9th, 10th, and 12th grade students (who have not been identified to test) will have a remote learning day (will not report to their school sites) on April 10, 2024. Seniors that attend Mid-Del Technology Center will report to MDTC for your classes that day.

The Board of Education named Mrs. Adrianne Harless as Assistant Principal for Carl Albert Middle School. Mrs. Harless has a strong tie to the Mid-Del Community by being an alumni of Soldier Creek Elementary, Carl Albert Jr. High, and Carl Albert High School. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and two master’s degrees. Throughout her career she has had stops at Mustang North Middle School, Northside High School in Fort Smith, AR, Southmoore High School and Carl Albert Middle School and currently serves as the Administrative Intern at Carl Albert Middle School. Adrianne and her husband, Tim, have two children, Easton and Gracen.

Members of the Mid-Del team attended the Women in School Leadership Conference hosted by the Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration (CCOSA) last week. Two of our administrators presented during the conference. Dr. LaShonda Broiles, Mid-Del's Deputy Superintendent, participated in the panel featuring Black Women Leading in Education: The Successes and Challenges. Mrs. Meagan Bryant, Mid-Del's Director of Counseling and Mental Health provided the “Morning Inspirational” to kick off day 2 of the conference to emphasize the theme of “Be a light, not a shadow!” #mdpurpose

Friday was the unveiling of the Robert Kalsu Memorial Statue located at the Robert Kalsu Stadium at Del City High School. After the unveiling, a new documentary by GLM3 Productions of the Life and Legacy of Robert Kalsu titled “ Uncommon Character” was premiered. In addition, a Vietnam War Era Pinning Ceremony took place for any who served during the Vietnam War Era.
