🌟 Native American Heritage Month: Person of the Day 🌟
Today we honor Deb Haaland of the Laguna Pueblo, a groundbreaking leader and the first Native American to serve as a U.S. Cabinet Secretary. Appointed as the Secretary of the Interior, Haaland is a passionate advocate for environmental justice, tribal rights, and sustainable land management. Her historic appointment represents a milestone for Native representation and her dedication to protecting natural resources benefits all communities.
As a powerful voice for Native peoples and the environment, Deb Haaland continues to inspire with her commitment to justice, stewardship, and unity.

🚨 Game Update 🚨
Tonight's 6th grade game has been canceled. We’ll keep you posted on any updates for rescheduling. Thank you for your understanding, and go Bombers! 💛🖤

🌟 Native American Heritage Month: Person of the Day 🌟
Today, we celebrate John Bennett Herrington, a proud citizen of the Chickasaw Nation and the first enrolled member of a Native American tribe to venture into space! 🚀
In 2002, as a NASA astronaut and U.S. Naval Aviator, he made history, taking with him the Chickasaw Nation flag on his 13-day journey to space. During the mission Herrington performed three spacewalks, totaling 19 hours and 55 minutes. These spacewalks are commemorated on the reverse of the 2019 Sacagawea dollar coin Herrington’s achievements inspire us to reach for the stars while honoring our roots! 🌌🪶 #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth #ProudToBeChickasaw

📢 Be on the lookout! 📢 Federal Impact Aid survey forms are coming home with your student on bright green paper this year! This important survey helps local districts identify federally connected students and determine eligibility for financial assistance, which supports our school by offsetting lost revenue due to federal properties being exempt from local property taxes.
Here’s what to know:
Purpose: The survey assists districts impacted by federal tax-exempt properties.
How it works: It includes questions about federally connected families, such as those in federal housing, on federal property, or with military parents.
How it’s used: The Department of Education uses this info to reimburse districts, with assistance based on the number of federally connected students.
What to do: Surveys go home with students; if you don’t receive one, let us know, and we’ll send another your way! Complete the form and send back to school with your student!
Thank you for helping support our school! 📄💚
