🌍 MCMS Celebrates International Day of Sign Languages! 🌍
According to the World Federation of the Deaf, there are more than 70 million deaf people worldwide, and more than 80% live in developing countries. Together, they use over 300 different sign languages! Did you know there's also an international sign language used at international meetings and when traveling? ✈️
Today, we highlight the unity and importance of sign languages around the globe. Early access to sign language and services, including quality education in sign language, is crucial for the growth and development of deaf individuals. It's also essential for achieving international development goals. 🌟
Here at MCMS, we are proud to have an AMAZING team of one Deaf Education Instructor and two Deaf Education Interpreters who are making a difference every day. 💙

Mid-Del Families, We want to inform you about recent social media threats of violence directed at multiple secondary schools in the metro area and across the state. Our staff, along with local authorities, are thoroughly investigating the sources of these threats, and while they have been deemed to be of very low credibility, we feel it’s important to keep you informed. Rest assured, our schools remain safe, and all safety protocols are in place. Unfortunately, these types of social media threats have become more common, but they are still taken very seriously. Each threat will be fully investigated, and those responsible for making or sharing such threats can face severe consequences. We encourage you to talk to your student(s) about the responsible use of social media. As always, if you see something concerning, please report it to our administration immediately to ensure proper investigation.
The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. Thank you for your continued support.
Update: At this time, no Mid-Del Schools have received a threatening message. We appreciate the families who have seen social media posts and have shared them with our schools.

🥳 Thank You, Golden Chick! 🥳
