The Board of Education named Mr. Gary Broyles as an Assistant Principal at Parkview Elementary. Mr. Gary Broyles is entering his 13th year in public education. He spent the first 10 years as an elementary classroom teacher in Moore Public Schools, spending most of that time as a 3rd and 4th grade teacher. He later joined OKCPS in 2022 as an Instructional Coach at Rockwood Elementary, but has spent the past year and half as an Administrative Intern and Summer School Principal at Quail Creek Elementary. Mr. Broyles received both his Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Educational Administration, Curriculum, and Supervision from the University of Oklahoma.

The Board of Education named Ms. Melissa Overcash as Mid-Del Technology Center’s Director of Workforce and Economic Development. Overcash is an experienced educator with a passion for CareerTech. She has 19 years of administrative experience serving in a wide variety of roles in both K-12 education as well as CareerTech.
Melissa began her career as a classroom teacher and coach, transitioning into secondary administration. She then applied for a position at Northeast Technology Center as a Student Services Career Advisor. Within a year, she was promoted to the Adult Education Director position at the Pryor Campus. Then she was tasked with opening and running the same position serving the community of Claremore as well. In addition, she has also served at the CareerTech State Agency as a Regional Coordinator. She holds her Bachelors and Masters from the University of Oklahoma and holds principal, superintendent and CareerTech Administrator credentials.
She is excited to have been offered the Workforce and Economic Development Director position at Mid-Del Technology Center. She believes her vast experiences working with business and industry will be an asset in serving the Mid-Del community. She looks forward to getting to work soon!

The Board of Education named Mr. Chris Wilkerson as Mid-Del’s Director of Maintenance and Construction Department. Chris Wilkerson has been employed with Mid-Del for the last 19 years in the Maintenance and Construction Department. Chris earned his Contractor license in the plumbing field and he has led the plumbing department as the foreman for 7 years. Chris has also taught night class at the Tech Center as a Plumbing instructor. He has been happily married to his wife Latrisha for 20 years and a proud father of 3, Seth and Genaveve, both graduates of Carl Albert High School and Peyton, currently attending Carl Albert Middle School. Chris is honored and excited to lead the maintenance team as the new Director and continue to provide a safe and well maintained environment for educating our future leaders.

The Board of Education named Mr. Terry Tilley as the District’s Director of Safety and Security. Tilley, a lifelong resident of Midwest City, began his career with Midwest City Ambulance Service as a paramedic and SWAT medic as well as a supervisor and teacher, precepting students entering the field. In 1997 he joined the Midwest Police Department as a patrol officer. The next year he began working security for Mid-Del Schools at various school sites but mostly Monroney. Doing security in schools made Terry realize working with students was his passion. He attended training in school safety, crisis intervention, and mental health. In 2014, the Midwest City Police Department partnered with Mid-Del Schools to add the School Resource Officer program. Terry was hired as the first SRO, serving at Midwest City High School, where he graduated in 1981, as well as at Carl Albert High School. Along with being an SRO, Terry was one of five police officers in the state to originate the Crisis Intervention Team Trainings in conjunction with the Department of Mental Health, traveling around the country teaching other officers how to deal with mental health issues. He also taught classes at state and national SRO conferences. Terry retired from the Midwest City Police Department in 2023 after 28 years of service. Working as Director of Safety and Security has been that dream job Terry has prepared himself for and cannot wait to be able to help keep all kids and staff in Mid-Del Schools safe.
Terry is married to Kayla New Tilley and is a proud dad to 3 adult children and grandpa to 5 grandkids.

The Board of Education named Mrs. Kellie Duckworth as the District’s Payroll Coordinator. Duckworth worked at MidFirst Bank for ten years, five as a branch manager, two as an assistant manager and 3 as a personal banker. She has served in Mid-Del for six years in the Finance Department. She started as a payroll specialist then moved to finance as the finance support technician and currently serves as the payroll executive assistant. She is excited for her new role and grateful for the opportunity to serve the Mid-Del employees.
Kellie is married to Shannon and together they have 5 children and 2 grandchildren. She is a proud mom of an Educator and also of 2 serving in the U.S. Air Force.

Student Athletes cannot participate in school athletic activities during the dead week period.
Secondary-level students enrolled or pre-enrolled students at a member school may not use any member school’s athletic facilities during the dead period in connection with any athletic activity governed by the OSSAA.
Member school coaches, assistant coaches and sponsors may not have any contact with secondary-level enrolled or pre-enrolled students in that member school in any athletic activity governed by the OSSAA for the purpose of coaching, training, or instructing.

The Board of Education named Ms. Shakari Dotson as Assistant Principal for Midwest City Middle School for the 2024-2025 school year during the Special Board of Education meeting today.
Shakari was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She pursued an undergraduate education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Shakari received her Master’s in Educational Administration Curriculum and Supervision from the University of Oklahoma. Her education journey began with Teach for America, leading her to Oklahoma City, where she started her teaching career at Millwood Middle School, teaching 7th-grade math. Over the past seven years, Shakari has taught science, honors math, and Algebra 1. In addition to teaching, she has been actively involved in enhancing students’ schooling through programs such as Girl Scouts and robotics and coordinating a high-impact in-school tutoring program— Ignite, to make a significant impact within the school community. Shakari enjoys spending quality time with my family outside of school, exploring her love for baking and the great outdoors. She has been happily married to her husband, Gabriel, for four years, and they share a 13-month-old son, Joel. Shakari is thrilled about the opportunity to serve the staff, students, and the community at Midwest City Middle School, and she is eager to contribute to the school's continued success.

The Board of Education named Mr. Tyler McIntosh as Assistant Principal for Midwest City High School for the 2024-2025 school year during the Special Board of Education meeting today.
Tyler is a graduate of Mid-America Christian University and the University of Central Oklahoma. He has served in Mid-Del for seven years, four as an assistant principal at MCMS and one as an AP at CAMS. He taught Oklahoma History and was the head soccer coach for two years at MCHS. Before Mid-Del, he taught and coached at Muskogee High School. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three wonderful daughters, playing soccer, and hanging out with friends. Ultimately, he is excited to return to MCHS and work hard to help our students grow.
