The Board of Education named Ms. Gina Wright as Assistant Director of Alternative/MDVA for the 2023-2024 school year. Gina is a Mid-Del graduate who earned a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education and a Master’s in Educational Leadership, both from the University of Central Oklahoma, and earned a Doctorate from Southern Nazarene University. She started her career in Mid-Del as an ELA teacher at Cedar Ridge, and then served as a Math Teacher and Instructional Coach at Jarman Middle School before moving to the Administration building where she served as the Math and Science Instructional Facilitator, then the Student Assessment Coordinator. Gina was also an Assistant Principal in a variety of schools in Mid-Del. She has most recently been an Assistant Principal in Oklahoma City. Gina’s only child, Isabella, works for the Metropolitan Library System. Gina is thrilled to return to Mid-Del and the family of educators who supported and mentored her for much of her career in education.

The Board of Education named Mr. Nalder Farris as Assistant Principal at Del City High School for the 2023-2024 school year. Mr. Farris earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Langston University and his Masters of Education Degree in Educational Leadership and Counseling Psychology from Washington State University. Mr Farris has served in many roles within the education field including adjunct professor, classroom teacher, and assistant principal. Through his dedication to his students, education, and community, Mr.Farris has found himself eagerly transitioning into his Assistant Principal role for Mid-Del Public Schools, where he is fully committed and devoted to the academic success of the students.

The Board of Education named Mr. Brandon Hawkins as Assistant Principal at Midwest City Middle School for the 2023-2024 school year. Brandon Hawkins is a graduate from Hugo High School. Following high school, Brandon attended SOSU and was a member of their Men’s basketball team for two years. He then transferred to ECU in Ada, OK where he played basketball for one year and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and later earned his Masters in Educational Leadership. Brandon began his journey in the educational field with Mid-Del schools in 2015 when was a Physical Education teacher for Steed elementary. Brandon left Mid-Del for a year to serve as an administrative intern with John Marshall Enterprise High School, but he is excited to return to Mid-Del and continue his pursuit of impacting the lives of the students, families, and educators. He is married to LaKiesha Hawkins and all three of their children are students within the Mid-Del school district.

The Board of Education named Mr. Russell Johnson as Assistant Principal at Del City Middle School for the 2023-2024 school year. Russell graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Modern Language Education, and in 2015 with a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. This school year, which was his 14th year in public education, he served as an administrative intern here in Mid-Del. He also completed the Moving Up cohort offered by the State Department of Education. Russell enjoys working in Mid-Del Public Schools with the support of my family.

The Board of Education named Mr. Allen Bellmyer as Head Principal at Parkview Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year. Allen, a veteran of the USAF, received his Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and Masters in Educational leadership from the University of South Alabama. He is currently completing his 18th year in education, 14 of which were as a classroom teacher in various grade levels. He has served as an Assistant Principal in the Mid-Del School district for 4 years. He and his wife have 6 children. He is excited with the opportunity to lead Parkview Elementary.

The Board of Education named Ms. Kathy Kirk as Head Principal at Epperly Heights Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year. Ms. Kirk is a proud product of Mid-Del Schools. She received her elementary education degree from Central State University, and holds masters degrees in reading and elementary administration, both from the University of Central Oklahoma. She began her teaching career in August 1988 at Country Estates Elementary and has served the children and families of Mid-Del in assistant principal positions at Steed, Sooner-Rose, Tinker, and Parkview, as well as principal of Traub Elementary from 2011 to 2014, and is currently the assistant principal of Epperly Heights Elementary. She looks forward to a great future ahead leading the Epperly Heights Mustangs!

The Board of Education named Mr. Andrew Taylor as Assistant Principal at Soldier Creek Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year. Mr. Taylor earned a Bachelor's degree in Politics from the University of Nottingham, followed by a Post-Graduate Certificate of Education from the University of St. Mary's, London, and he is completing his Master's in Education Administration from the University of Oklahoma this summer. Mr. Taylor has worked for Mid-Del Schools as a third and fourth grade teacher at Soldier Creek Elementary School and is currently the Instructional Coach at Townsend Elementary School. Prior to that, he taught first grade in London, England. Andrew is married to Emily and has two children, Grace and Benjamin, both of whom are Mid-Del students. He is also a foster parent. Mr. Taylor is excited to continue his journey with Mid-Del Public Schools.

The Board of Education named Mrs. Amanda Bennett as Assistant Principal at Midwest City Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year. Amanda Bennett is a graduate of Del City High School. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education as well as her Masters in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. She has been an educator for 12 years serving in various roles. She has been married to Cameron, a teacher and football coach at Norman North High School, for almost 18 years. Their daughter, Aliya attends Carl Albert Middle School and their son, Creed attends a private daycare in the Mid-Del area.
