The Carl Albert High School Titans Experienced the Journey of Hope. Carl Albert High School 9th grade students had the incredible opportunity to hear from Mr. Richard Williams, a survivor of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. His story, “A Day of Darkness – Years of Light,” reflects on resilience, hope, and healing. The connection to Mid-Del runs deep: Mr. Williams' wife, Lynn, worked for Mid-Del Schools, and their son, Aaron, was a student at Carl Albert High School during the time of the bombing. Legislators representing Oklahoma County joined this powerful event to honor the family members of those lost, survivors, and the first responders from Midwest City who exemplified extraordinary bravery in the face of tragedy. About the Program: The Journey of Hope, an initiative by the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum, is traveling to all 77 counties in Oklahoma as part of the 30th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing. This program shares vital lessons about the impact of violence and the importance of hope, using archival footage from the Museum. Recommended for students 6th grade and older, it ensures that the story and its enduring messages reach the next generation. Together, we honor the past, inspire the future, and stand strong as #OneDistrictOneFamily. #mdpurpose #oklahomacitymemorial

This meaningful contribution is a significant benefit to our community, and we are truly grateful for the Mid-Del Public Schools Foundation’s unwavering support. #mdpurpose #OneDistrictOneFamily
